26th September Matilda meeting

1 - PROPOSAL - T to set up workshop to provide technical support for building, including dealing with electrics and day-to-day maintenance.

He's already done work on the building in the past & is keen to take this on, in return for being able to use workshop for his own stuff. He drew attention to the dangerous state of the building - and proposes to work with Building Collective to bring it up to standard of fit for 'reasonable use' - estimates this can be done in two to three weeks. This includes getting fire alarm system working again.

2 - PROPOSAL - craft & knitting group to meet Sun 23rd Oct 7-9pm

3 - Gig collective want space for storage & to use for meetings, preparing publicity materials, etc (possibly 2 seperate spaces? one that can be locked for storage, a larger one for mtgs etc?)

PROPOSAL - gig collective to identify a space in the building and bring this to next week's monday meeting

4 - Finances

- J, M & J dealing with setting up bank acct - application should be in by the end of this week

- query about who's acting as treasurer? M is currently dealing with bills, signatories to bank acct could be treasurers - it was agreed to review this in a few wks time

5 - Matters arising - didn't seem to be any...

6 - Matilda rules - is the list on the wiki complete?

- this was deferred as whoever put it on the agenda wasn't here...

QUESTION - has anything happened about a Seeds for Change facilitation skills workshop?

7 - Report back from last Wednesday's meeting

- S said we need to decide on whether we allow people to make money

- Someone asked what the outcome of the Wednesday meeting process is going to be?

NEXT WEDNESDAY MEETING - set for 5th October (a week on Weds) at 7 for 7.30pm - to discuss PGA hallmarks

REQUEST for facilitators for 5th October 8 - PROPOSAL - that a Workshop page is set up on the wiki and people put dates for workshops, etc on it. And that a date is set when the contents of this will be transformed into a leaflet with events for ?next 3 months?.

9 - Club nights

PROPOSAL - that any proposal for a club night has to be made by those who want to organise it in person at a Monday meeting

- concerns were raised about the legal consequences of charging money - all events must be on a "donation only" basis, tickets can't be sold in advance - also people would object to a fixed charge on principle as noone should be excluded

- possibility of a MATILDA benefit night elsewhere? D to look into

- C90 party on 8th October will only use 1 room

- PARTIES COLLECTIVE NEED TO MEET AND STRENGTHEN BLUEPRINT

- "P's working weekend" - discuss on the list what needs doing

10 - PROPOSAL - UK Indymedia film festival with party on night of 26/11

11 - benefit gig in October - there was a proposal for a hunt sabs party on 22/10 and another event on 29/10 - could they be combined on 29/10? - to be discussed and brought back to next Monday's meeting

12 - PROPOSAL - people to work on MATILDA website in hacklab this Thursday night

13 - Other stuff

- Sat 8th October - Art 05 submissions afternoon - 1-4pm

- R's birthday next week, so party with party games after Monday meeting!

- Request for blankets
