new proposals

  • Cleaning: Three options were suggested for cleaning: A rota, hiring cleaner(s) or for cleaning to become part of a usual working day (Thursdays) and also on weekends. Agreed that cleaning is to be done by ourselves.
  • Buy-Nothing Day: Proposal to join the "buy-nothing Day" campaign.
  • Building's Organizer: Proposal for a new "organizer" in the form of a whiteboard. To be brought to next meeting (28th November) by person suggesting this idea. Agreed.
  • Group gathering: A proposal was made for a gathering of the anarchist federation to take place in Matilda in December. *Not passed* as blocked by a Matilda person; to be brought back to next meeting, on the grounds of it being reasonable.
  • 16th-17th December: Proposal to book these dates for a benefit gig with some DJs for Pakistan earthquake appeal. 17th December: Electric Blanket. Approx. 100-150 audience. *Passed* on condition that gates will close at 10pm and that cleaning is done next day at 11am as arranged.

feedback from collectives

  • The Gig collective reports a successful (50 persons paid in) last gig.
  • Indymedia Film Festival. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week. A rota form has been placed on main blackboard for volunteers for the 3 days. Today Tuesday, Helena will be there from 5pm: welcome to help with some cleaning and making signs.

Mozaz' Art work

This problem has been solved. Apologies and explanations offered and accepted. *Issue closed*.

Finances

Currently Matilda has 100pounds as common budget for buying heaters. Some trouble with bank account, not yet opened due to lack of communication between signatories. It was suggested that financial statements could be taken to the Monday meetings. Also, that ins and outs could be written down on current Diary or black book. Someone offered Matilda her savings account, not used, where signatories could be added. Her offer is pending for another week. It was agreed that a finance group or finance collective could be set up with at least 3 persons.

Allocation of Spaces

  • Someone made our first metrical drawings:

  • Some spaces have been provisionally allocated.
  • A Library/Women Space was allocated.
  • Current Art05 showrooms to be used as supplementary space for cafe/kitchen and collective collectives' office.
  • Art exhibitions also allowed in main gallery and eating places, on condition that painting is not done directly on walls (not permanent or moveable artworks).
  • Kidsroom to be started at current bar place or somewhere else, pending safety.
  • An art exhibition/shop/workshop room was allocated to be cleaned (downstairs, now full of debris).
  • Someone suggested to create a separate film room.
  • Extra workshops and storage space (for bikes) to be created through some partitions.
  • Tat room suggested as storage room for gig collective. This tat room and extra basement places could be shared when not used by them.

next week

  • Next big meeting to be structured as small groups, otherwise unfeasible to handle so many issues in two hours. This was agreed and passed.
