Can we get the TOC back for this page as its been hidden? I'm not sure how.

What's the etiquette with making changes - eg, if I want to fairly thoroughly rewrite a page someone else has done, is it worth discussing it on this list before doing the work, in case the original author could argue me 'round to their way of doing things?
