Green party want to do something on ecological footprints. Can we match this up with a very local concern, e.g. Heeley City Farm, discussing why reducing your ecological footprint is important for Sheffield (Discussion of the tip relevant here also)

Working together

Orig from wdm – e.g. online calender of events in sheffield – community, Political, radical, etc. So not clashing on events; joint working and info Sharing on campaigns’ joint working on taking info to shops. Sheffield IMC events

The universities and the city: getting together university people interested In helping community groups, by proposing that students do work for them. (Jenny Fortune for Hallam, anyone at Sheffield Uni?)

Issues

Public services
democratising public services; picture of public provision (and Private profit) in sheffield; care and dignity of the elderly; council housing (centre for public services, impact, nef rep?)
Local to global
workshop for those groups wanting to make the connection Between local and global issues. (wdm, oxfam, people and planet)
Sheffield history and politics
to think about possible ways to promote learning And political debate and activism in the city e.g. democracy cafes, local History group (dan!)
No One is Illegal
racism/asylum/immergration, the No One Is Illegal Group have been invited, see also noborders.

Steve suggested:

Was chatting to someone in Mansfield Woodhouse and mentioned the Social Forum launch and seemed like they'd be up for coming and doing a workshop. This guy (and his wife) are very clued up on the whole corrupt affair so I think this would be a very interesting workshop.
They're away at the moment but I'll try to confirm when back (bout a week) if no one objects.
The other major, major local issue at the moment is of course Nine Ladies. Has anyone tried to get someone from that campaign to talk at the launch? I can try next time I'm down there if no one else has.
