1st August Matilda meeting

The plan originally had been to talk about principles, but it was felt that not enough people were present to make it representative.

Even so, lots was said and contested; and we even came to a few conclusions. Such as...

• Agreed: to move the kitchen up to the glass ceiling'd room on the first floor. Why? Downstairs is dark and smelly.

• Materials for building benches etc: the plan is to do some work on Friday for this - driving round with a van to get wood from skips, and building some benches for the hacklab. Get in touch if you wanna join in.

• Agreed: maintenance group to look at cleaning and building in communal spaces. (The idea being that different collectives 'own' their own spaces, and so sort out their own cleaning and building).

• Agreed: Sat-sun, 13th and 14th August as date for mass cleaning of communal spaces - please come n join in!

• Some proposals on use of space:

• • For recycling PCs - would mean quite a lot of techno-junk! We agree this would be cool. Any objections?
  • Two new people wanted to get into doing art / photography / film. We tried to work out how they'd get involved; it wasn't very clear...
  • Using the space for the proposed Indymedia film festival, probably in October. Sheffield IMC to confirm dates.
