19th September Matilda meeting

There were around 30 people at the meeting and it started around 7:45 and ended at 9:30.

New arrivals

4 new people introduced themselves.

New ideas

• An idea of doing a afro celt dance workshop / event was suggested, a band are to be contacted about this.
• A reggae / ska benefit gig for the Thornbury Animal Sanctuary charity that Dave Godin supported was suggested.
• DIY weekend to fix stuff in the building combined with a party, perhaps before the Dissent weekend?
• A compost bin is now outside the back door -- don't put cooked food in.

Agreed events

• There is a film screening next weekend.
• Wed 28 - massage skill sharing.
• Thur 29 - M1 winding event during the day.
• Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th Indymedia weekend.

Keys

It was agree that the M1 windening campaign would have a key.

Zine article

It was agreed that it was OK for an article to be written about Matilda for a zine.

This led to a discussion about advertising the space...

Hacklab

All the computers are up and running now, the hacklab collective, will sort out opening times and sessions. Doing an install fest sooner rather then later was suggested. Who has the hacklab key?

Cafe

Work is underway, there is still a lot of work to be done. It was agreed that the kitchen is a priority, the plan is to have it done by the dissent gathering.

Dissent gathering

At least 20 spaces needed in houses to put up people for the weekend.

Staying at Matilda

It was agreed that people would not stay at Matilta except for events.

Internet connection

It was decided to pay for the net connection out of the party money.

Bank account

What is the progress on this? The people setting it up were not at the meeting.

Notes of meetings

Previously it was agreed not to put names on the wiki, there was a discussion about how much information should be put on the wiki or in emails to the list.

29th Oct Big Benefit party

It was agreed that this had been previously agreed.

Nature of Matilda discussion

There was a long discussion about if there was time to have this discussion at this meeting or if a special meeting should be set up to discuss it...

It was agreed to have a meeting at 7 (for 7:30) on Wednesday to discuss this...

Facilator for the next meeting

The need for a facilator for the next meeting was discussed and someone was agreed.
